KDDI native is a high-speed unlimited plan: it does not drop to 128kbps after a set amount of data, so normal travel use stays at high speed throughout. Unlimited plans are subject to a fair usage policy.
Which areas does the KDDI network cover?
All of Japan, including Okinawa. KDDI is one of Japan’s major carriers, and cities, suburbs and sightseeing areas across the country are covered.
Can I share the connection with a laptop?
The eSIM does have hotspot sharing, but whether it works and how stable it is depends on your handset and the device you are connecting, so we cannot guarantee every combination. We also do not recommend using the hotspot for long periods, and suggest one eSIM per phone.
How much data do I need for a week in Japan?
