How much data. Four days of constant navigation, ride-hailing, timed bookings and night photography is not a light workload. Line 2 passes through the sixth to eighth floors of a residential building. Chongqing hotpot and what else to eat
Chongqing hotpot is beef-tallow based and genuinely, unapologetically hot. The nine-grid pot is not a gimmick: each square cooks at a different intensity, and locals use them deliberately.

Hongyadong and the Chongqing night view
Hongyadong is the stilted complex that lights up gold at night and gets compared to Spirited Away. It is spectacular and it is extremely busy.
The useful piece of advice: the best photograph of Hongyadong is not taken inside it. Cross to Qiansimen Bridge or the Nanbin Road side of the river and shoot it whole. Lights typically come on around dusk and the crowd peaks in the hour after. Go at opening time the next morning if you want to see the interior without queueing.
Ciqikou old town is the other standard stop — touristy on the main lane, noticeably better two streets off it.

Budget more transit time than the map suggests, and fewer sights per day than you would in a flat city. Chongqing punishes optimistic scheduling.

Is Chongqing physically demanding?
Yes. Stairs and slopes are unavoidable and the metro often exits onto a hillside rather than a street. It is manageable with a slower schedule and liberal use of ride-hailing, but it is not the right city for someone who cannot handle steps.
