An eSIM is an embedded digital SIM built directly into your smartphone. Many devices already support this feature, such as all iPhone models from iPhone XR onward, including iPhone 11, 12, up to 17, and future models. As long as the device is not carrier-locked (as may be the case with some devices purchased in the U.S. or Japan), phones purchased in Taiwan generally support eSIM without issue. Some Android devices also support eSIM functionality.

Because eSIMs can be rewritten, your phone can store multiple eSIM profiles. However, at any given time, you can activate up to two SIMs simultaneously, for example, your local Taiwan number and one overseas eSIM.
